How We Got Here

We didn't plan to build two companies.

Every family that calls us is in the middle of something hard. The least we can do is be honest with them.

Tribeca Care started with a simple premise: that professional home healthcare in India was either unaffordable or unreliable, and that families deserved something better. Over 12 years, it grew into one of India's largest eldercare companies โ€” built on clinical quality, transparency, and the trust of tens of thousands of families.

Along the way, something became clear. Families weren't just asking us to manage care at home. They were asking us where their parent should live. Which facility was actually good. Which ones looked good in a brochure but weren't. What the real costs were. Whether their parent would be happy.

Those questions couldn't be answered by a care company. They needed a different kind of expertise โ€” part advisor, part researcher, part honest friend who had been inside the facilities and could tell you what they found.

That's what Tribeca Senior Living was built to be. Not a directory. Not a lead-generation service. A trusted guide โ€” for the most significant care decision a family will ever make.

We earn a placement fee from facilities when a referral leads to a move-in. Families never pay us. We tell every family this upfront โ€” because the only way this model works is if our advice is genuinely trusted, and trust requires transparency.

Tamojit leads Tribeca Senior Living โ€” the advisory and placement side of the Tribeca group. He brings an unusual combination to eldercare: the financial rigour of a former banker and the operational conviction of someone who has spent years building one of India's largest care companies from the ground up.

His focus is on building a senior living advisory that families actually trust โ€” one that gives honest assessments, discloses how it earns, and measures success by whether the placement was genuinely right, not just completed.

He is currently a Churchill Fellow โ€” researching elder care models across Asia and the UK, with a specific focus on how technology, social enterprise, and better funding models can make care more equitable and effective in India.

Prateep founded Tribeca Care over 12 years ago with a conviction that professional eldercare in India could be done differently โ€” with clinical rigour, without the indignity that families and their parents too often encountered.

Today, Tribeca Care operates across multiple states, has supported over 40,000 families, and manages care inside several senior living facilities โ€” including as the embedded care provider at Snehadaya in Kolkata.

As a co-founder of Tribeca Senior Living, Prateep brings the care operations perspective โ€” 12 years of knowing what happens inside facilities, what the real quality differences are, and what families should be asking before they sign anything.

How We Work

The things we won't compromise on

We visit every facility we list

We don't list facilities from brochures or websites. Every community in our network has been visited in person โ€” we've walked the corridors, spoken to residents and staff, checked emergency protocols, and eaten the food. If we haven't been there, it's not on our site.

We tell families the negatives too

Every facility has trade-offs. A beautiful campus that's 40 minutes from the nearest hospital is a genuine concern for a family with a frail parent. We say that โ€” even if it makes a sale less likely. Families find out eventually, and we'd rather they find out from us.

We're transparent about how we earn

We earn a placement fee from facilities, not from families. We tell every family this before we begin working with them. We believe this transparency is the only way to be genuinely trusted โ€” and trust is the only thing that makes our model work long-term.

We match on fit, not on price

Some facilities pay us more than others. That never influences what we shortlist for a family. We match on care level, budget, location, food culture, language, and what the family actually values โ€” not on which facility is most commercially convenient for us.

We stay involved after move-in

The first 60 days after a parent moves into a new facility are the hardest. We monitor the transition, stay in touch with the family, and intervene if something isn't right. We only succeed when the placement genuinely works โ€” not just when it happens.

A significant share of our families are managing a parent's care from the UK, US, UAE, or Singapore. They can't visit frequently. They rely on us more than a local family would. We've built our entire advisory model around earning and keeping that remote trust.
